Privacy Policy

How Southern Gaming Digest handles contact details and basic site visit data.

Effective 3 November 2026

Who is responsible

Southern Gaming Digest operates this website at akaroachurches.co.nz. For privacy requests, contact the site operator at harbourdesk@akaroachurches.co.nz.

Information we collect

If you send a message through the contact form, we receive the email address and message you provide. Your name is optional. We use these details to reply to your enquiry, assess a correction and maintain the accuracy and security of the site. If you leave a required field blank, we cannot send the message or reply to it.

The web host may create technical request logs, which can include your IP address, requested page, date and time, browser details and referring page. These logs support delivery, troubleshooting and security. This site does not use advertising profiles or analytics scripts.

Contact form service and recipients

The contact form uses FormSubmit to transmit your message to the editorial inbox. FormSubmit is a third-party service provider. Its published help says form submissions are kept in its archive for 30 days. The email provider used by the inbox may retain messages under its own settings. FormSubmit or the email provider may process information outside New Zealand. We remain responsible for handling personal information under New Zealand law and will take the steps required to protect it when a service provider processes it overseas.

We do not sell contact details or use them for advertising. We share a message only with service providers needed to receive and respond to it, or where disclosure is required or authorised by law.

Retention and security

We keep messages only for as long as they are needed to respond, handle a correction or meet a legal obligation, and then delete them when no longer required. Please do not include passwords, financial account details, identity documents or other sensitive information. Information sent over the internet or email cannot be guaranteed to be completely secure. If a privacy breach meets the legal threshold for notification, we will notify affected people and the Privacy Commissioner as required.

Your privacy rights

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you may ask for access to personal information we hold about you and request that it be corrected. Contact us using the address above. We may ask for enough information to confirm your identity. We will respond within the period required by law, usually 20 working days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may raise the matter with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Cookies and changes

The site scripts support navigation and the contact form. They do not set advertising or analytics cookies or save personal information in local storage. The web host and service providers may use essential technical measures to operate and protect their services.

This policy is effective from 3 November 2026. We will update it if our data handling changes and post the new version on this page.
